Information for Referring Veterinarians
PetPB is available for consultations Monday through Friday. If your patient presents during emergency hours, your patient will receive primary care by our emergency clinicians over and will only be transferred to PetPB, if elected by you. If you send an animal to PetPB during emergency hours and would like an internal medicine consultation, please let the emergency doctor know. Stable animals can also be dropped off during evening hours for a next day consultation. Please call in advance to ascertain that we will be available to see your patient.
You will receive a call from PetPB on the day of initial consultation to discuss diagnostic findings and treatment plan. If an animal is hospitalized at Pet PB, you will receive daily updates and a referral letter upon discharge that will include recommendations for continued treatment and diagnostics. Follow up and rechecks will be provided as you prefer at either your clinic or at PetPB. It is important for us to know your preferences.
