When you arrive at PetPB, your pet will be triaged by our highly trained and experienced emergency staff. The veterinarian will then evaluate your pet's condition and consult with you about treatment recommendations and a detailed estimate of costs.
Pet Emergency Care
The components of emergency pet care are stabilization, diagnosis and monitoring of the patient. With this in mind, various life support and other important treatments may be required that are all available at PetPB:
- Oxygen therapy
- In-house lab work with fast results
- Transfusions such as whole blood, plasma, packed red blood cells and IV fluids
- Placement of chest tubes, feeding tubes, endotracheal tubes, and jugular catheters
- Digital Radiography and/or Ultrasound
- Cardiac and other major organ function monitoring
- Emergency Surgery
Pet Critical Care
Palm Beach County veterinary clinics often refer to PetPB for their after-hours and critical care cases. We commonly treat pets for the following emergencies:
- Trauma cases
- Epilepsy with uncontrolled seizures
- Poisonings
- Insulin and diabetes-related issues
- Cardiac patients requiring overnight monitoring
- Renal failure requiring diuresis
- Post-operative cases requiring monitoring or further treatment
- GDVs
- Foreign body surgeries
