Veterinary Surgery Clinic
PetPB is trusted by Palm Beach and Boca vets for all pet surgeries including soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgery. During the initial visit, our surgery team will personally meet you and your pet, and the doctor will perform a complete physical exam. We will review your pet's pertinent medical history with you to include your pet's medical records, radiographs, blood work, and/or ultrasound images.
Elective & Emergency Surgery
In most cases, your pet's family veterinarian will request an appointment at PetPB Animal Emergency and Referral Center for you. Our surgeon is available for surgical consultations on a referral basis Monday through Friday 9am-12pm at our Boynton Beach veterinarians clinic. If it is determined that surgery is recommended, you will be provided with detailed pre-surgery instructions for you and your pet prior to the day of surgery. Pre-Surgical Screenings
Our surgeon may recommend further blood tests, digital imaging or other screenings to determine if surgery is indicated as well as to help tailor an individualized, safe anesthetic plan for your pet. Most pre-surgical testing can be performed the same day at PetPB. Our surgery department will be in constant contact with your referring veterinarian, updating him or her on your pet's progress. All medical records pertaining to your pet's procedures and hospital stay with us will be faxed to your referring veterinarian as they may keep your pet's file up dated and complete.
Safe Pet Anesthetics
PetPB uses only the safest and most modern anesthetic drugs available and is dedicated to providing top-notch pain management for our patients, as pain control is crucial to promoting a speedy and smooth recovery. State-of-the-art multi-vital sign monitoring and mechanical ventilation is used throughout all procedures. Our contemporary operating suite is fully equipped with digital x-ray viewing, a fluid warmer and warmed operating table, and IV pumps safe for even very small and/or elderly patients.
A Nurse by Your Pet's Side
A registered veterinary nurse will be at your pet's side performing vigilant anesthetic monitoring from the induction room to the recovery room. All patients undergoing general anesthesia are given intravenous fluids to help maintain blood pressure and hydration during the procedure. If pre-surgery blood coagulation testing determined your pet to have a risk of bleeding, pet blood products may be indicated and administered.
