Emergency Medicine Education
The staff at PetPB is highly committed to continual education and regularly attend veterinary conferences to stay current on the constant advancements in our field.
PetPB's Emergency Medicine Externship
We strongly support and promote all educational endeavors and have created a structured emergency medicine externship program suited for 3rd and 4th-year veterinary students. PetPB is proud to have hosted several externs from several veterinary colleges including the University of Florida, Ross University, Auburn University, and St. Matthews School of Veterinary Medicine.
Our externship program is directed by Dr. Natalie Fayman and is offered year round. Externships typically last 2-4 weeks and involve full exposure to all aspects of veterinary emergency and critical care. During the course of the externship, externs are expected to actively participate and develop competency in a full spectrum of emergency veterinary procedures. In addition to hands-on clinical training, externs also have the opportunity to prepare and present pertinent case studies to the attending clinicians.
